Biographical Statement:

Raymond De Young's research has focused on motives underlying durable behavior change and the role of self-interest and competence in environmental stewardship. Recent work with landscape architecture colleagues explored the effect of environmental attributes and design principles on citizens' behavior and well-being. His teaching centers on behavior change theory, intervention and evaluation. He has recently completed a faculty scholars program in integrative medicine which led to the study of the psychological effects of mindful walks in natural settings.
