Biographical Statement:

Dr. Linda Steg is assistant professor in environmental and social psychology at the University of Groningen where she also received her PhD in social psychology. She has held research positions at the Social and Cultural Planning Office of the Netherlands and the Council for the Environment, and was associate professor at the University College Windesheim, all in the Netherlands. She conducted many studies within the field of Environmental and Traffic Psychology. She is particularly interested in studying conservation behaviour and sustainable development from a multidisciplinary perspective. She has coordinated various multidisciplinary research projects on sustainability issues.

She teaches environmental psychology, applied social psychology, and social science research methods. She is president-elect of Division 4 ”Environmental Psychology’ and treasurer of Division 13 ‘Traffic and Transportation Psychology’ of the International Association of Applied Psychology. Moreover, she coordinates the Sustainability Network of the International Association for People-Environment Studies (IAPS).
